• It's been a while since I played but VW/Claude to me represents 'imagination';
• Which is to say that if some of Edelgard's unsavoury behaviour turned you off to the idea of revolution (in fiction or IRL) then we're gonna have a hard time synthesising our interpretations/extrapolations of the story.

• In other news I'm sorry I can't engage with CF in good faith and extract the sapphic anti-establishment revolution sentiment from it in a way that satisfies me. Usually I'm happy to take crumbs from Intsys, but for this topic specifically I'll be looking elsewhere. Just the right little details used to be a story I'm unwilling to rehabilitate.

• There's a small crowd on Tumblr who one minute seem to have a good grasp on racism in fiction, and then not see the problems with using the term 'Khalidstan' unironically;
• Regardless of the user's ethnic background, it ends up conflating Certain Fans' impulse to cling to/transformatively engage with representations of cultural diversity in fiction with harassment/cyberbullying;
• (Like, it's not even that unpleasant behaviour is inherently bad and never acceptable. These people never seem to grasp that there are underlying grievances that ought to be addressed, regardless of the user's tone! Use your intuition!)
• It's an interesting greyish area to examine the current 'discourse' around pro-shipping/racism in fandom;
• (Greyish because the right conclusion to take from all this is still clear;)
• Which is to say it is rather disgusting...

• Personal grievance: it's unfair that Faerghus gets fleshed out the most in 3H because if I wanted Anglo Kingdom Melodrama I would play another game or watch a movie or something;
• On a tangent y'all lied to me about AM being more narratively coherent than the other routes! This is aside from the sloppy handling of racism;
• Dimitri and his story/trajectory lack... ambition? The other major reason why I am not terribly invested in his route. In the context of the other routes (specifically CF and VW) it lies too close to 'status quo'... it lacks imagination.
